Tasty “Healthified”: Chicken Roll Ups

Tasty “Healthified”: Chicken Roll Ups

I LOVE the Tasty recipes from BuzzFeed, but they are not very healthy. I’ve healthified a few of their recipes for you… and today I give you: BBQ CHICKEN ROLL UPS! They are delicious… and now they are even more nutritious! Enjoy!

First step is defrosting the frozen dough – leave it in your fridge for 2 days OR on your counter for 4 hours and it should defrost nicely. There is the brand I used (I made mine Gluten Free – you can buy this in the freezer section at Whole Foods or other local grocers):

Now, you’ll need to either buy a roasted chicken and pull the meat off the bone – OR – cook your own chicken (cut it in chunks) which is a cheaper option (even if organic) and you can use white or dark meat.

I sautéed the chicken in BBQ sauce from Que225 in California – then I roll out the dough (you may need to sprinkle w/ GF flour if the dough is too sticky), and layer it.

You can replace the cheese with Daiya dairy free cheese, and it still tastes great!

Layer in spinach, broccoli, or other greens for a healthy and delicious addition!

Roll it up, cut it, place them on a lined baking sheet  – pop it in the oven @ 425 degrees for ~12 minutes
