Banana Ice Cream

MANY moms know this sneakily-heathy recipe… freeze bananas, then stick them in a food processor, and wallah: healthy ice cream! Unfortunately, my 3 year old wont eat anything the color of bananas, she prefers pink. So we invited some friends over, and asked them for advice on how to make this awesome recipe even more awesomer 🙂

Dairy & Nut Free – Salt/Sodium Light

What you’ll need:
2 bananas – peeled and frozen
1 teaspoon honey
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1 medium mixing bowl
1/4 cup milk (we used coconut milk for creaminess and dairy free)
1/2 to 1 tsp Organic red food coloring (we used fresh beet juice to avoid nasty chemicals)
Food processor or good blender

Let’s get cookin’:

Step 1: Peel 2 bananas, cut them in half, put in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Freeze.
Step 2: Once the bananas are frozen, put all items into the food processor. Adult – you must handle the blade!
Step 3: Make sure the food processor lid is on tight, and press the ‘Pulse’ button as many times as it takes to create a creamy smooth, pink ice cream.
Step 4: Adult – you may need to use a spatula to push the ingredients down into the food processor a few times to make sure everything mixes well.
Step 5: Serve in small dishes and enjoy!
